Holmblad is a Danish, family-owned company based on the Riviera del Sol in Málaga, Spain.
Since 2018, we have been supplying water filtration solutions to the Spanish market, providing a practical and more environmentally friendly alternative to the countless plastic water bottles carried home from supermarkets every day.
Today, however, the need for water filtration goes beyond reducing the use of plastic bottles. New and persistent contaminants are increasingly being detected in Europe’s water environment, while groundwater is affected by pollution from agriculture, industry and other human activities. This creates new challenges for the monitoring, treatment and protection of our drinking water.
Our focus is therefore on modern filtration technologies designed to reduce a wide range of potential contaminants while maintaining good water flow, ease of use and low operating costs.
We use advanced coconut-based activated carbon block filtration, including antibacterial filter media with high capacity and long service life. For more comprehensive filtration, we also offer systems combining activated carbon with ultrafiltration membranes, providing an additional physical barrier against microorganisms such as E. coli.
Our range also includes the latest generation of reverse osmosis systems, providing highly effective filtration when reduction of substances such as nitrate and certain small, short-chain PFAS compounds is required.
We source most of our products within the EU and, wherever possible, prioritise European-manufactured products. We do this both to reduce environmental impact and to ensure a high and consistent level of quality.
Shorter transport distances can help reduce the environmental footprint associated with transportation, while European production provides a high degree of traceability and is subject to extensive requirements for materials and products intended to come into contact with drinking water.
