Ecoline Duo Ultra combines an antibacterial coconut-based activated carbon block cartridge with a 0.01-micron ultrafiltration membrane cartridge.
The combination of these two cartridges provides highly effective filtration of contaminants such as pesticides, microplastics, PFOA, PFNA, and bacteria including E. coli and Legionella.
Despite the enhanced filtration performance, the system maintains a high and practical water flow rate while preserving the water’s naturally occurring minerals.

Ecoline Duo comes fully assembled with pre-installed fittings and filter cartridges. All you need to do is connect the supplied hoses. Installation typically takes around 10 minutes and normally does not require a plumber. The annual replacement of the filter cartridges is equally simple and can be completed in just a few minutes.

How does the Ecoline Duo Ultra water filter work?
Ecoline Duo Ultra combines two advanced filtration technologies in one compact under-sink system.
The first stage uses our antibacterial AB22 coconut-based activated carbon block to reduce contaminants such as PFAS, pesticides, chlorine, pharmaceutical residues and organic impurities.
The second stage uses a 0.01-micron ultrafiltration (UF) membrane that provides an effective physical barrier against bacteria and extremely fine particles.
Together, the two cartridges provide comprehensive drinking water filtration while preserving naturally occurring minerals.
What is the difference between Ecoline Duo Ultra and a standard carbon filter?
Unlike conventional carbon filters, Ecoline Duo Ultra combines activated carbon filtration with a separate ultrafiltration membrane.
While the carbon block primarily reduces chemical contaminants, unpleasant tastes and odours, the 0.01-micron UF membrane provides additional protection against bacteria and microscopic particles.
This makes Ecoline Duo Ultra particularly suitable for households seeking both chemical and bacterial filtration.
Why use two separate cartridges instead of a combined carbon and UF cartridge?
Using separate cartridges allows each filtration technology to perform its specific function more effectively.
The dedicated carbon block provides a larger quantity of activated carbon for chemical contaminant reduction, while the separate 0.01-micron UF membrane provides finer physical filtration than typical 0.1-micron combined cartridges.
This arrangement offers a balanced combination of chemical filtration, bacterial protection and practical water flow.
Does Ecoline Duo Ultra reduce PFAS and pesticides?
Yes. The AB22 activated carbon block is designed to reduce selected PFAS compounds, including PFOA, PFOS and PFNA, as well as various pesticides and organic contaminants.
The effectiveness depends on the individual substance, its concentration, water composition, flow rate and cartridge usage.
PFAS and pesticide reduction is primarily provided by the activated carbon block rather than the UF membrane.
Does the filter remove microplastics?
Yes. The combination of activated carbon filtration and a 0.01-micron UF membrane provides an effective physical barrier against microplastics and other suspended particles.
The UF membrane is particularly useful for retaining very fine particles that may pass through coarser filtration systems.
Does Ecoline Duo Ultra remove beneficial minerals?
No. Unlike reverse osmosis systems, Ecoline Duo Ultra allows naturally occurring dissolved minerals, including calcium and magnesium, to remain in the drinking water.
This preserves the water's natural mineral composition while reducing a wide range of unwanted contaminants.
Does ultrafiltration reduce water pressure?
The fine UF membrane creates some resistance to water flow, but Ecoline Duo Ultra is designed to maintain a practical flow rate of up to 6–7 litres per minute.
Actual performance depends on incoming water pressure, water quality and installation conditions.
Does Ecoline Duo Ultra produce wastewater?
No. Ecoline Duo Ultra filters water directly through its two cartridges without producing a separate wastewater stream.
Unlike traditional reverse osmosis systems, it does not require a wastewater connection or discharge water during normal filtration.
Can Ecoline Duo Ultra connect to my existing kitchen tap?
Yes. Ecoline Duo Ultra is designed for installation under the kitchen sink and connects directly to your existing cold-water supply and kitchen tap.
There is normally no need to install a separate drinking water faucet.
The system is supplied with filter cartridges, fittings, hoses and mounting accessories for straightforward installation.
Is Ecoline Duo Ultra suitable for private wells or borehole water?
Ecoline Duo Ultra provides additional filtration against bacteria and fine particles, but private well or borehole water should always be tested to identify potential contamination.
For water containing higher levels of sand, rust or sediment, we recommend the Ecoline Triple Ultra, which includes an additional protective sediment prefilter.
